Yoga - Reiki Intensive Retreat
Level 1 and 2 Certification Course
From 25 June to 08 July, 2013
What is Reiki?
Reiki means the universal life-force energy. 'Rei' represents pure consciousness, 'Ki' is life-force that pervades the entire universe and known in yoga as Prana. The art of joining “Rei” with “ ki ” is known as Reiki.
Reiki treatment is given by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

About Mysore
If you have never heard about Mysore, it is known as the capital of yoga in South India and a perfect gateway to explore South Indian culture steeped in thousands of years of past Hindu Heritage. It is located in the middle of all cultural and spiritual places in four South Indian states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
What made us to change to Mysore, instead of Himalayas, is it’s good weather throughout the year and it meets a lot of our practical needs like transport, comfortable rooms and proper food etc. The cultural feasts of this place can balance the 9 hour a day intensive training you will be going through a month long very special time of your life.

Accommodation
Peridot Inn is a 3 Star Corporate guest house specialized in hosting the groups. During our retreats we are taking the entire place, along with lawns and outdoor restaurant.
All the rooms are a luxury for Indian standards and meets International standards of hotels with spacious rooms furnished aesthetically and the private bathrooms with western toilet seats, hot showers and sinks etc… We chose this seemingly a bit expensive facility as we found from our past retreats in Himalayas and Kerala that without a comfortable sleep and nourishing food, our students can't focus on the course. A good sleep and proper food can make a big difference in how you enjoy this intensive retreat.
We will be doing yoga in a huge hall on the top floor and two other halls within the same building can be used for morning gentle yoga classes and for teaching practice during the second half of the course. Two huge lawns are also available for yoga whenever the weather permits.
This Inn has ample staff to keep the rooms and campus clean and to change the sheets and towels regularly.
All rooms are connected with Wi-Fi access and Intercom phone.
Internet Center at the reception and Laundry Service are available within the campus at a nominal cost.
Foods & Drinks
We provide sattvic Indian foods & drinks, which are less spicy and beneficial to the practice of yoga and meditation. Meat and fish are not allowed in our campus. Eggs can be provided on demand, if you think you need more proteins.
05.30 am: Hot Lemon Ginger Drink or Tea without milk
09.00 am: Brunch with Kichdi, two curries and chapati etc..
02.00 pm: Fruit Salad with Herbal Drinks
07.30 pm: Indian Light foods with vegetables, salads and occasional desserts.
We understand that Indian food is new to your stomachs and make sure that you are getting the right food. If anything doesn't suite your tummy, we will provide you with bread, porridge, cornflakes, eggs or any other alternative food that suites your stomach.
Cultural Trips:
We will be organizing a Cultural Tour on days-off for visiting all the important places to expose you to the magic of India. The tour costs are NOT included in the course fees and needs to be paid separately. It will cost about $10 to $20 for this trip.

For Single females arriving late night or early morning we request you to wait at the airport or we can arrange a hotel closer to airport -- as we don't want to any risk with female students during night. If there will be two/three students it might be okay to drive down to Mysore during the night also.
